Smooooooooooothies

I know this page is somewhat geared towards “junk food”, but you’ve got to get some healthy stuff into you somehow. Smoothies are a great way to pack a bunch of nutrients and goodies into. You know, so you can eat the junk food later!! There are so, so many ways to make smoothies, some prefer more tart, some more sweet. This post will be a bit different, as it’s not going to include directions as I’m pretty sure you can figure them out on your own. But, just in case……..add all ingredients to blender. Blend 

Chunky Monkey!

This baby is my fave. Who knew a peanut butter and chocolate combo could be healthy?!?!

  • 1/2 C non-dairy milk (I try to use fortified soy milk for smoothies, but for this one a nut milk will up it’s game!)
  • 1 large banana
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1/4 C peanut butter – or 2 Tbsp powdered peanut butter (this kind is epic!)
  • 1 Tbsp shelled hemp seeds (my fave kind)
  • 1 tsp ground flax

Pina Colada!

  • 1/2 C unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 C pineapple chunks
  • 1 banana
  • 1 Tbsp agave or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp ground flax

Tropical Delight!

  • 1/2 C papaya
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 C mango or pineapple
  • 1/2 C spinach
  • 1/2 C strawberries
  • 1/4 C plain coconut yogurt
  • 1/2 C soy milk
  • 1 Tbsp shelled hemp seeds
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds

Berry Berry Wonderful!

  • 1/2 C soy milk
  • 1 C mixed frozen berries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp shelled hemp hearts
  • 1/2 C spinach
  • 1 Tbsp ground flax

Greenie!

  • 1/2 C non-dairy milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1 C spinach
  • 1/2 C kale
  • 1 Tbsp agave/maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp shelled hemp hearts
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp flax seeds or psylium husk
